Basketball camp

The boys went to Aggie basketball camp again this year.  They always seem to have a good time.  Carter really just goes for fun and Camden is all serious.  Its fun to watch them progressing and just fun to see them having a good time!

Darin turned the big 33

Memorial day also marked the 33rd year of Darin's life.  We celebrated the next day as well.  Just look at all those candles!  What an old man....it was about time he was as old as his old woman!  I don't like the five months that I am older than him;)

We sure love having him around!!  Happy Birthday Dar!

memorial day

This year we spent memorial day up in Idaho at my uncle Jerry's (my grandparents old) farm.  It was a lot of fun and my kids love going there.  We went four wheeling, played in the barn, ate good food and the kiddos even got a ride in the tractor.  It was a fun day!  It was Darin's birthday as well, but that will be another post!

This kid can't ever seem to give me a good smile anymore.  Silly boy!

After the farm we headed up to the cemetery to put flowers on Darin's dads grave.  It was a beautiful evening and the cemetery always looks so nice with all of the flowers.  We had a fun day!

I ran a race!

Ok, so it really is nothing to brag about.  It's not like I ran a marathon, or even a half marathon, or even a 10k.  It was a measly 5k. But it was my first and I was proud.  My mom convinced me to run in the Smithfield Health days run and I did it. I finished it without stopping and averaged a 10.5 min mile which I felt pretty good about!  I have never liked running.  In fact I remember the timed mile in junior high as the one day I dreaded gym class.  I never could imagine how anyone could run for fun!  Then I became a mom.  I love being a mom. However, it can be somewhat of a stressful endeavor.  Some mornings I just need to clear my head.  There is nothing quite like watching the sun come up over the mountains and not hearing anything but your favorite list of work out songs on your ipod and your feet hitting the pavement.  No one is asking for anything, no one is whining, no one needs you....except yourself....I actually enjoy running!! (3 miles at a time that is:) I'm not sure I will ever run much further than that for fun, but hey...its a start!

End of 1st grade

I can't believe Carter finished 1st grade.  Where has the time gone?  At the end of the year the first grade had a program.  I was a little late getting there as usual and my seats were pretty poor.  This was the only shot that I got of him before my camera died.  It was a cute program.  The highlights:  Carter's country line dancing debut and them all singing "Its a small world" in Japanese.  Carter was pretty proud of that.  The next few pictures were off of my phone so the quality is a little lacking, but hey....at least they are pictures:)

I was also a room mom for my boys classes and my job in Carter's was the end of school party.  It was fun.  We just played a bunch of games outside with water.  The kiddos had a good time, and it is always fun to see Carter at school.  He is such a funny kid.  He really loved his teacher this year and boy did she push him.  I'm not sure I loved all of the homework she sent home, but the difference from the beginning of the year to the end was really remarkable. So thank you Mrs. Young! We will forever be grateful!

Tooth Fairy

Somehow the Tooth Fairy forgot to stop by when Carter lost a tooth.  I had heard that if you went outside and let the Tooth Fairy know she was missed, she wouldn't forget again.....it seemed to work for Carter!

spring soccer

The boys played soccer again this spring.  They had fun and with such a warm spring in Utah not even one game was cancelled....that never happens.  Darin was Carter's coach and he did a good job as usual.  The boys have improved so much.  It really is fun to watch them!

Back in the saddle!

Well after a four month sabbatical, I am ready to come out of hiding!  With hundreds of pictures to tell our family story of this summer, I have my work cut out for me.  I will make a goal to have at least one post a day until I am all caught up! So for any of you who even look at this ol' blog anymore.....here we go!

sneak peak of my little D turning 2!

Camden's birthday

Well, Camden went and turned 9 on us.  He is growing up way faster than I would like.  This kiddo loves having a birthday.  It is right up there with Christmas in his book!  This year it was his year to have a party, but took our offer to take a friend to Lagoon.  It ended up just being him and his dad, but really Darin is his very best friend and I don't think he would rather spend time with anyone as much as his dad!  On his birthday we all went to Pizza Pie Cafe and then headed to Oma's for cake and ice cream. These next few pictures were before school.  He begged to open just one present before he left!

Even Parson flew in for the festivities!

A Perplexus...what he was most hopeful for!
The gang who came to celebrate!

 Money!  He loved that!

I love you Camden!  I hope your day was special!

The Fun of the Chase

How many are we entertaining out there?
