giggle

Anyone need to smile today?  This should do the trick!

basketball camp and toothless Carter

The boys were able to go to basketball camp at USU a couple of weeks ago.  Camden went last year, but his was Carter's first.  They had a blast and loved spending time with the players and coaches they get to watch all winter long.  It was a fun week!
And even more exciting....Carter finally lost his first tooth!  I pulled it out while we were eating dinner.  He was excited...then cried...then was excited again!  He wanted to see what color the tooth fairy was, so he put his tooth in a glass of water.  He was excited to report his fairy was BLUE!

Camden's baptism

On June 4th 2011, Camden was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  It was such a special day for our family and especially for Camden.  It was a long morning.  Our stake does stake baptisms and I believe there were 11 kids getting baptized that day.  Our session had 5, 4 of which were from our ward.  It took about two hours to baptize and confirm them all, but the spirit was strong and I was so proud of Camden for the decision he made.  I still can't believe I have an 8 year old, but since I do, I'm glad it is Camden.  Afterwards we went to a park with all of our family to celebrate.  I must have been having such a great time that I didn't even get out the camera. The weather was perfect though, we were so greatful for that.  Here are some pictures of his baptism and of him in his new suit.  He loves his new suit and I haven't been able to get him to wear anything else to church ever since.  Doesn't he look grown up!

What a goofball....we love you Camden!

9 months

I can hardly believe my little monkey is already nine months old!  Where has the time gone? He is just the funnest little guy around and I have to be honest....I'm totally in love with this little guy!  Some of the fun things he is doing right now:  He loves to smile...at those he knows.  If you ever look at him and say he is cute he instantly snuggles his face into my shoulder with a grin...looks like another shy one.  He has severe stranger anxiety.  A couple of weeks ago, I had to present something in YW and one of the other leaders took him out for me....you would have thought she was beating him.  He was hysterical.  Instantly was calm once he was returned!  He loves to giggle.  He has a very different laugh than the other kids.  Much more of a chuckle.  Very funny.  He finally mastered crawling (9.5 months) and is so proud of himself.  The first day of crawling I had to call poison control.  He found an ant trap and happily was chewing on the plastic container full of poison covered in ants!  No worries.  Apparently you would have to drink gallons of the stuff to harm yourself.  He is sleeping through the night...most of the time.  He has six pearly whites, four of which came around 8.5 months all at the same time (rough week).  He loves his siblings and they in turn love him!  He hates going down for naps and I have to try all sorts of tricks to get him to sleep...once asleep though he will sleep for hours.  His smile melts my heart and I just can't hardly imagine my life without him.  How funny that I was convinced no more boys were suppose to come to our family......so glad that Heavenly Father knew what I really wanted, I can't imagine my life any other way! Here are just a few of some of my favorite pictures of this little man.

9 month stats
Weight: 17lbs. 11oz.  10% (over two lbs. smaller than my boys at the same age...those cheeks had me fooled!)
Height: 27 in.  15%
Head: 17 1/4 in.  15%

Like I have said....We grow 'em small around here!

Memorial Day

Memorial day weekend:
1. It was freezing
2.  Darin turned the big 32!
3.  Darin took the boys to a Real Salt Lake game and I could ring their clothes out that night.  Luckily no pneumonia!
4. We drove to Park City to stay in a condo.  The roads would have made you think it was the middle of Jan., not the end of May.  Total white out!
5.  Each morning when we woke up, there were a couple of inches of snow on the ground.
5.  I fell down the entire flight of stairs the first night, Darin laughed and then fell down himself while holding Dawson the last day.  Not really funny.  We all survived!  Beware of old narrow staircases covered in velvet like carpet....dangerous!
6.  We ventured out one day and found this.....
 .....yes those are shoes, interesting!

7.  We stopped in Salt Lake on the way home and visited the children's museum.  Didn't take the camera, figured we had enough pictures from recent trips.
8.  Went out to eat at TGIFriday's.  Pretty successful with four kids.
9.  Drove home and visited Darin's dad and brother's graves.
10.  It was a pretty memorable Memorial Day!

soccer

Another soccer season came and went.  The boys are getting better and it is fun to watch.  Especially Camden's age, they are really playing the game!  Here are just a few highlights of the season!

Only a few more months until it starts all over again!

Camden

May was a busy month around the Chase household!  Camden had lots of field trips and a birthday.  With Dawson being born at the beginning of the school year, I wasn't able to help out in his classroom this year, so I tried to help out as much as I could with class parties and field trips for both of the boys.  This picture is from our field trip to willow park.  It is fun to watch Camden interact with his school mates.  I've realized I'm not quite as cool as I use to be:) and he doesn't like to get embarrassed! Camden has grown up so much lately.  He still gives us a hard time once in a while, but he has mellowed so much and really is such a big helper with a really big heart.  We sure love him!

 Matthew, Alex, Camden and Elsie

This was his first birthday surprise.  It was against my better judgement....it didn't really go with the decor of the basement:)....but Darin insisted that it was the perfect gift.  He was right!

Later that day, we had family over for a BBQ (personal request of Camden....that kid loves a good BBQ) cake and presents.  Once again he was spoiled rotten!
Look at all of those candles....where has my baby gone!

 Happy birthday kiddo!
And one last field trip to the cemetery and park in honor of memorial day!

Easter

Easter came and went at our house.  We didn't go anywhere this year...just stayed close to home.  We had an easter egg hunt in our cul-de-sac....here are just a "few" of the kids we live by...

Myah had fun looking for eggs, even though the older kids seemed to find all of the obvious ones!
Don't you love that forced smile:) He really was having a good time!
The Saturday before Easter, the Easter bunny made his appearance.  The kids where excited and I am pretty sure Camden ate his entire basket by that night....I guess that is why he woke up in the night and threw up...gross!  We had to hurry down to our nieces baptism that day in Highland so it was a quick morning!

And here we are on Sunday in our Easter best!  What cute little "bunnies" we have been blessed with!

And we can't forget the dying of the eggs!  A yearly tradition!

The Fun of the Chase

How many are we entertaining out there?
