Last summer I had a vision. It involved Darin and I, Hawaii and my awesome neighbors. I never thought it would actually happen, but last January we found our sorry frozen cache valley selves basking on the beaches of Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii. It was a week of pure heaven and my 15 week pregnant self was begging for a change of pace, some sunshine and a week of relaxation. It totally delivered all I had hoped for. I LOVED it!!! I can't wait to go back again someday!

Catching some waves at Waimea Bay |
Trying some shrimp at Giovanni's shrimp shack. I can't believe I ate anything that came out of that truck and actually enjoyed it! Sorry for the surprise shot Jonesie...it's all I had:)
Chocolate tasting in Kailua...thanks for the experience Justin. Darin and I would have never done anything so interesting on our own.
Hanging out at Turtle Bay
I had a cheap rental car all figured out before we arrived in Hawaii. When the guys went to pick them up, they didn't think our full size sedan was just going to cut it. We drove out of the rental parking lot in these beauties. Ill admit they were pretty fun...however the rain that happens in Hawaii everyday isn't as much fun to drive in with the top off of the jeep. We had to do a little improvising with towels a couple of times:)
A day in Waikiki
The awesome bunch. Jason and Lesley, Me and Darin, Justin and Callie and Telly and Kristin. I love living by these guys!
Darin showing off!
Kristin matching him:)
Kristin and I sneaking in to the hot tub at Disney's Aulani resort. Our rental was just across the street so we spent a lot of time at that beach and pool:) We only got kicked of the lawn chairs once....not that there weren't like 100 empty ones. I guess you just got to have a wrist band for that:)
Ko olina beaches
Boots and Kimo's....best banana pancakes with macadamia nut syrup on the island. We drove 45 min and waited an hours just to devour in the baked goodness!
Laie temple. It was a downpour so we took this from inside the visitor center. What good memories I have of this temple from the time I spent at BYUH...Oh I loved it there!
These waves were huge....pictures don't do justice!
Best shave ice on the island! Haleiwa is also one of my favorite little towns. It was a favorite in college as well!
Polynesian cultural center. It was a rainy day, but still fun. It also is a little sentimental for me as well. I'm sure my friends and Darin alike got sick of all of my reminiscing:)
The view out of our bedroom.
We had such a fun time. The beaches, morning runs, yummy food, time with just my hubby and awesome friends made this trip one I will never forget!
And this is what we returned to. Anyone ever wonder what an inversion looks like from the sky? Utah is down there somewhere....not sure how the pilot even found the runway. I think we came home to temperatures in the single digits!
A nice shot of Darin in the airport. To bad flights home from Hawaii are always red eye. Its hard to go home to kids when you are exhausted!
