spring break

For Spring Break this year I was brave and took the kids on a little mini trip without Darin.  We went down to Spanish Fork for a night and stayed with my Sis-in-law and her kiddos for a night.  Darin's brother is in Iraq so we thought she could use some company.  We played and went to the park.  It was such a nice day there.  It was so good to catch a few rays...something rare this spring!
Carter spinning....that thing made me sick just watching!

 Camden taking a turn!

Then we met Lesli and her kids at the zoo.  The weather had returned to it's normal cloudy self...great for the zoo, no one was there!  The animals liked the mild weather and were so active that day! We had a fun time.  I was tired after our three day excursion and was ready to have dad back!

 Myah loved the carousel!

Camden acted like it was lame....i think he really loved it:)

Myah insisted to ride with Grady and Clara....my stroller wasn't nearly as fun!

Even Dawson had a good time!

When Myah turned 3!

So I've made a goal to blog just a little each night this week until I am all caught up!  So I better start with this little munchkin's third birthday...yes I know it was 2 1/2 months ago....oh well.  Better late than never!

So the morning started with the baking of her cupcakes.  She was very excited to help!  And this picture is for those of you who like to give me a hard time about always having Myah's hair done...it looks like this more than you know!
After licking all of those raw eggs for breakfast, we were off to the mall for pretzels and a new outfit.  Little did I know we would end up with EARRINGS!  I always said she could get her ears pierced when she was ready.  I would always ask her and the answer was always "I just want sticker earrings".  Well not today.  She was begging for the real deal.  I was worried she would freak out, but even after a quick demo on what they would do, she was still as excited as ever.  Since this wasn't on the docket,  I didn't even have my camera.  I have pictures on my phone, but I have to figure out how to get them off.  Anyway she was so proud and looked darling.  And now I can say two months post, that we haven't had a single problem.  She has been great.  Later that night we had a birthday party with all of our family.  It was a Tinkerbell party.  She was in heaven.  However I think Tinkerbell may have taken a back seat to the real star of the night....Pinkalicious!  She has loved her ever since!
Sporting her new big girl bike!  Where did my baby girl go?
 Ahhhhhh....Pinkalicious herself!
cupcakes.....much easier that coming up with a cake and I just loved those cupcake wrappers!
Happy happy birthday to our little lady!
Three things I love about Myah right now:
1.  Her raspy voice...it kills me!
2.  When the boys are in trouble and she says: "please be nice to my brovers."
3.  When she looks at me and says: "I wuv you mommy. You are my best fwend!"
and just for a bonus...I love all things girly about her....what on earth would I do without just one little lady to be a girl with!  Love you Myah girl!

Sweetheart!

She might be full of sass these days, but there is something deffinetly heart-melting about that little raspy voiced three year old that has us all completely wrapped around her cute little finger!  We sure love our little Myah girl.  We love Jada's photog skills as well....nice work!

Who does he look like?!

With each baby comes the age old question "Who does he/she look like".  This question continues until the child reaches at least 2 and then continues with people who you haven't seen in a while.  It's funny because usually those who knew Darin growing up will say our kids look like him.  Those who knew me growing up say our kids look like me.  Sometimes I look at them and see things that look sooo Darin and other times I look at them and get this weird sensation that I am looking in the mirror.  I guess that is to say that our kids are a pretty good mix of us both.  It's funny to listen to people trying to convince each other about who one child looks more like than another.  I also found it funny when we had Camden it was always "does he look more like Darin or Joanna".  Now with Dawson it rarely is about which parent he looks like as it is with which sibling does he look like more.  It seems lately everyone thinks he has "his own look".  People don't seem to think he fits the mold exaclty of any of his siblings.  I however look at him and see little pieces of the first three all meshed into his cute little body.  He just looks so familiar to me.  Like I have known his little face for a very long time.  I don't know if it is because he reminds me of myself, or of his siblings or if I just remember him from before...but regardless of who he looks like...he is pretty darn cute!  Along with my other kiddo's.  But just for fun I thought I would let the rest of you be the judges.  I found pictures of all of us at about the same age as Dawson and thought you could decide who looks like who.  What do YOU think? (to bad I could't find one of me smiling:)

Mom:  You have grown up over night!!!!!
Camden:  Dude...it's okay.  I'm only eight!!!

Happy birthday to our quickly growing, spunky, sports playing "dude".  We love you Camden!  Don't be in such a hurry to grow up!  I swear I just had you yesterday!  We hope you have a great day....(it's killing him that we won't let him open presents until tonight!)

WAC

In march we decided to take the kids to the WAC tournament in Las Vegas to watch the Aggies play.  Camden was begging and I really wanted some sun!  My parents and Ashley and Paul were going as well so we all headed down.  Our first real road trip with four kids!  I am happy to say we survived and  Dawson did wonderfully!  He was probably better than all the rest....that is what is great about not being able to talk....you can't whine either!  Anyway we broke the trip up a little bit.  Our first stop was in St. George for a couple of nights.  One night my mom watch Dawson for us and we went swimming.  We had a blast and it was nice to get in on some of the fun instead of just watching while I took care of a baby.  Myah looooooved the water slides and they all were having a good time swimming....not to much anxiety from the boys...yeah, finally!

I've decided I just have to love this goofy grin for awhile because that is all I can get out of him these days!

Just playing.....look at the monster coming upon his prey!
Do they look scared?  I was!
On fri. we headed to Vegas.  I was a little worried taking my boys there after our last trip, so I found a place four miles off of the strip with no casino.  It was wonderful.  The name of the resort was The Cancun and it was great.  The rooms had a kitchen, and family room and two bedrooms/baths.  It was perfect.  After a run to target we had enough food for the trip and I am happy to say the closest we got to the strip was the freeway.  There were a few sketchy places we had to drive by to get to the arena, but luckily the wii was hooked up in the car and I don't think the boys even looked out the window.  It really was great.  The weather was lovely, 75 degrees and we were all in heaven.  The hotel had a great pool with water slides which was so fun except Myah was to little to go on them (they wouldn't let her sit on Darin's lap) so we had to hear her complain for a while, but once she got in the pool she forgot all about the slides and just had a fun time splashing with dad.  I laid in the sun and enjoyed watching them play.  The water was a little to cold for Dawson (and me:).  We had a great time!

We are ready for the big game!  Go AGGIES!

If you have never been to an Aggie game, you are missing out.  The student section is crazy and the energy in the arena is un-matchable.  The tournament was no exception, other than the Spectrum is a little cozier so the noise is explosive.  The kids were pretty excited and Dawson usually slept, so we were all happy!

We won!  What better way to end a trip!
Ashley is going to beat me for this, but I loved it!
On Sunday we drove back to St. George for the night.  We went and walked around the temple.  The weather was gorgeous!  We had a fun day! Here are just a few pictures.  Camden was being a little sassy...didn't want to smile for the camera.

Those tattoo's were pretty good....I thought they would wash off in the tub, but it took a good scrubbing to finally get them off!

We had such a great weekend.  We couldn't have asked for better weather, better games or better company!  Until next year!

The Fun of the Chase

How many are we entertaining out there?
