I can hardly believe that our little Myah is 4 months old! I took her to the doctor last week and she was weighing in at 12 lbs. 7 oz. (30%) and was 24 in. long (50%). Looking at her percentage you would think she is skinny, but she definitely is sporting the cute baby rolls (why that can't be cute when we get big I don't know!). She is the biggest smiler in the world and sometimes her smile is so huge you think her head might just explode! She is such a joy to have around. She is napping really well during the day and has started getting up once in the night again (she was sleeping through the night for about a month---not quite sure what happened, but I guess I can't complain about a once a night feeding.). She has rolled from her tummy to her back a couple of times and she is just starting to grasp a rattle or toy. It is fun to watch her learn and develop, but I am in no hurry for her to grow up. I wish she could stay this way for a while, but since I know they grow up way to fast I am just trying to enjoy every stage! The other day when I went to the doctor I had decided to only get a couple of her shots...she just acted funny at her 2 month check up and I was a little worried. I told the doc that I would get a couple of shots that day and be back in a month for the other two. I really didn't think that would be a big deal, but boy did I get a tongue lashing! He was very passionate that she get all of her shots on time and wasn't willing to think outside the box at ALL. I was a little disappointed, because I had previously been very happy with him. I stuck to my guns and felt really good about my decision but that wasn't before he had me in tears. I am just curious if any of you have had the same experience? I am a believer in vaccinations and don't want to make this a controversial post, I think it is a personal decision that isn't the same for everyone, but I think a doctor should be a little more supportive, after all I was planning on getting her all of her shots, I just felt like for her she should not get them all in one day. Oh the joys of being a mom! I swear if there isn't one thing to worry about than there is another! (or maybe I am just a worry wart....I probably am!)

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.
You don't have to actually answer the questions.
Just read the questions straight through, and you'll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is , none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies..
Awards tarnish.
Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special!!
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials..
the most money...or the most awards.
They simply are the ones who care the most.

Watch out Tiger!
Darin watching with such daddy eyes. I believe his exact words were something like this; "He has a lot of potential, I just need to work on his swing and his follow through" My words "Good job Camden....did you have a good time?!" He is always trying to get our kids to be better, I just have to occasionally remind him that they are only 5 and 3! I love you Darin!!!! It really is quite cute!

Looking Back at the 4th!
I never finished posting about the fourth of July so I have a little catch up to do and then a bunch more so I will be posting a lot just to get caught up. Blogging is my only way of keeping a journal these days....I am in a scrapbook club but I have a pile of over a year and a half worth of completed scrapbook pages with no pictures on them. Oh well, someday I will get caught up. In the mean time I will just keep blogging away, it is so much faster and cleaner and my boys can't really get into it! So back to my post, we spent the fourth of July with my family in the morning/afternoon. We go boating every year on the fourth. It is fun, but there always seems to be boat trouble and then there is Camden. Absolutely terrified of boats! I am not really sure why. The first two summers of his life I took him boating all of the time and then once he hit 3 he no longer wants anything to do with them. He even gets all worked up if he even sees a boat parked at my parents house. I am hoping it is a phase because it makes for a stressful "family fun" time. I forgot to take any pictures, but we had a fun time roasting hot dogs, eating fresh fruit and homemade caramel popcorn and just being together as a family. Carter had his first ride in the inner tube and loved it. He, unlike Camden is not afraid of boats or water so I have to keep a close eye on him. Myah slept most of the day. I was going to let her have her first ride on the boat, but the water was a little too choppy for her little head. Maybe next time! After boating we always go to Darin's mom's and have dinner and do fireworks. The boys have so much fun with their cousins. They are so out of control and I fear my in-laws think my boys are crazy, but I swear they are much better behaved when they aren't surrounded by so many BOYS! They love it! We had a great time being together. Other than Christmas, the 4th of July is my very favorite holiday. It doesn't get much better than that!

Park City

The Olympic Park was a lot of fun too and they were amazed with the ski jumpers, so was I!
Future US Bobsled team!
I think the SLC Temple is beautiful and there is such a neat feeling on temple Square we had a good afternoon. We had to make up for the fact we didn't make it to church. However with my kids I think we got a lot more out of our afternoon at Temple Square than we usually get trying to keep them quite and listening in Sacrament meeting! If you look closely in the picture above you can see Darin and Carter. It was a perfect shot with no one else around!Posted by Darin and Joanna at 9:49 AM 2 comments
Fun with cousins!
I love you all, but I have to admit you all look a little silly with those hats on!!!Posted by Darin and Joanna at 9:35 AM 0 comments
